USA-Cuba Sports Experiences is both the largest and the most experienced provider of athletic exchanges between US citizens and the Republic of Cuba. Since its inception in 1997 we have been transporting youth and adult teams to Cuba for tournaments and tours versus both Cuban opponents and visiting teams from other countries, including Japan, Canada, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. These events provide enthusiastic friendly competitions at both beginning and advanced skill levels, staged in the friendly environment of people-to-people cultural exchanges with host Cuban athletes.
Competitions in Cuba arranged and sponsored by USA-Cuba Sports Experiences have regularly included youth and adult contests in baseball, softball, golf, tennis, basketball and soccer. Teams traveling to Cuba with USA-Cuba have regularly included boys’ and girls’ youth baseball and softball teams from Florida, California, Ohio, Missouri and a half-dozen other states, plus college and high school varsity teams and adult amateur club-level teams. Organizations recently traveling with US-Cuba have included the South Florida Little League All-Stars (West Palm Beach), Team USA All-Star 13-year-old baseball (national selection), the Maitland Sting (Florida) girls’ fast-pitch softball team, the Cincinnati Elite (Ohio) girls’ softball squad, and junior golf under the supervision of PGA teaching professionals.
All USA-Cuba team exchanges are held under the auspices of the World Amateur Athletic Congress (WAAC, with 16 member nations) and are fully licensed and legal for US citizens. Teams and individuals traveling with USA-Cuba for athletic competitions and cultural exchanges are hosted by Cuban sports organizations and comply with all US Treasury Department (OFAC) regulations for legal travel to Cuba. While our groups enjoy the highest levels of spirited competition versus quality Cuban athletes, primary emphasis for our trips remains the invaluable and rich cultural exchange with host-nation Cuban citizens.
Through an affiliated company, Robert M. Weinstein & Associates, LLC, programs for medical exchanges, exporting of goods from the US to Cuba, educational and religious travel can be arranged. Weinstein & Associates handles all of the arrangements including licensing, travel, visa, meetings and conformance with export (US) - import (Cuba) regulations. Because of our extensive relationships, we can also assist in arranging meetings for companies and individuals that want to do business with Cuba.
